Storystorm Day #22: Popup Pirate

Keith Allen's Storystorm blog post about being a popup book creator inspired me to write a non-popup story...about a popup character!

Pierre is a popup pirate who pops up on page 12 of a popup book called, "The Lost Treasure." My story is about how, when "his" child (the girl who owns the book) gets too old to be read popup books, he misses her reliable reactions to his popping up.

Will Pierre ever pop up again, or is he doomed to folded oblivion?

To not answer this question, here's an excerpt about his heyday:
One week, she [his child] picked “The Lost Treasure” to be her bedtime story every night.
On Monday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!”
On Tuesday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!"
On Wednesday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!”
On Thursday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!”
On Friday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!”
On Saturday, when her father got to page 12 and Pierre popped up, she shouted, “Pirates!”
And on Sunday, when her father got to page 12 for the seventh night in a row and Pierre popped up yet again, she still shouted, “Pirates!”
That was the best week of Pierre’s life.
